I upgraded to Mocha 4.1 and then upgraded Mochaimport+ to 4.46. But after that I can't get clips into Mocha by using the "Import Button" > "Track in Mocha". The script asks to make new oder overwrite the existing but it doesn't open Mocha. After installing 4.45 it works again, but it says that this was "created in an early version or so". What I'm doing wrong?

I have done quite a bit of searching here in the site but have found no usable solution.

lets say I have 7 pre-comps that all need to be replaced with one. The only problem is, those 7 pre-comps are used 15 times each throughout the project and it would take me forever to go in and replace the source footage of each of those by hand. Does any body know of a script that will do a search and replace for source footage in a project? This comes up regularly with the work that i do and would be nice to have something to automate this.

The scripts that I have tried and do not work are:

AED Corner Cutters

Batch search and replace paths (this works great for source footage outside of After Effects but not within AE)

Templater

It would be so nice if there was a script that allows users to color code their composition tabs. Unless it's just me, I feel it would be helpful if the tabs where color coded like the layers.

Is there a script or plug-in out there that will take a picture and break it up into various parts (squares for example.) The idea would be that you could automate and rapidly create a photo collage of a single image. (See examples of what I mean in attached pics.)

hello everyone,

I just downloaded a connect layers plug in and everytime I want to create a triangulation with fill, it prompt me with error message saying: " Error. After Effects error: Can not add a property with name "ADBE Point3D Control" to this property group.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Any pointer would help.

Hey,

I want to install Plexus 2 on our Renderfarm and installed the plugin on the first node. After Effects is only running under "ae_render_only_node", so how do I activate Plexus with my render-only license? After Effects is saying I should activate it with the command line activation. Could someone explain how this works, please. I have to do this 20 time (20 render nodes) so I want to make sure I'll do it the rigth way so that it works and I don't have to do that another 20 times.

I know this might be a support request, but I thought it would be helpful for other people who are facing the same problem. Sorry if this should be the wrong place.

Hi,

the script "dynamic textbox" works like a charm.

Nevertheless I have a question for an "extended function".

If I have several of dynamic text boxes each one under the other (in the y-axis) and with some (fixed) free space between each other.

If I change now the text in one text box from one lines to two lines it "grows" in the y-axis.
That´s when it would be great, if the boxes under this two-lines textbox could move their position accordingly in the y-axis down, while the free space between the boxes stay fixed.

I hope it was understandable.

Or to say it in other words: Would it be possible to link the y-position parameter of textbox B to the y-position of textbox A bottom line?

I´ve searched aescripts, the forum here, mograph.net and via google, but couldn´t find anything about this topic.
Maybe you know a script, with which you can automatically copy a layer from the middle of one composition to the start of another composition?
Right now, if the "target"-composition is too short, the copied layer won´t show up in the timeline, so you can grab it to the start...

Hi all

I´m looking for a script that allows me to create different versions of the same project relying in naming conventions.

Say my comp has 3 clips, video_1_AA , video2_AA, video_3_AA. I´d like to update the three of them with videos 1, 2 and 3 BB, CC or whichever I need, relying in the last two characters of the name files being the rest of the name the same.

Is this possible or simple to do for a newbie?

Hi there,

I've just downloaded LipSyncr to use in an animation I'm currently making. After the speech analysis step, do you just export as mp3? Or is there something in the export settings I need to adjust? The demo video seems to cut short and the next tutorial jumps straight into AE without explanation of the audio export from Premiere.

I just don't see the point of going to premiere first if it's just a simple mp3 file format? Unless the metadata from AP matters? Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks

Plexus 2 - Map in Z-Space/Obscure 1/2 the layer?

Hey all,

Sorry if this is a repost, but I searched all around the net and couldn't find something that exactly fit my issue.

I have a 3D globe created with element 3D v1.6 (or with CC sphere, it doesn't effect my issue) and a cloud of points and lines created with Plexus (a Sphere Primitive with a noise effector). The radius of the points is slightly larger than the E3D globe, and the rotation of the Plexus layer is parented to the rotation of the E3D null object.

The problem is, After Effects and/or Element 3D doesn't see the plexus points in 3D space, so when the points spin to the point where they normally would be behind the globe in z-space, they appear on-top of the 3D globe.

I've tried a number of combinations with track mattes and other round-about methods, but either it won't work, or I just haven't wrapped my head around how it should work that way. Is there no way to add an obscuration layer (as in particular) or make AE see plexus as a 3d object that can interact with other 3d objects?

Any leads, help, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've been searching for how to create a waving, flat or vector flag in After Effects. I just came across Anicons' set, which looks brilliant. Could anyone who owns this set or has knowledge of it provide an explanation as to how the waving flag works? Although they are beautiful, I don't need the icon set, would just like to know how to animate a waving flag. Thanks for your time.

Hi everyone, say has anybody encountered this problem where you want to convert puppet points to nulls this, using the Puppettools Ae plugin, and finds that the image is offset however the scaling and rotation stay in the original place?

The layered file I am working on is a PSD.
